Thomas Bruce (T.Bruce) MacKinnon II, Chief Operating Officer of Elevator World, Inc., has more than 20 years of sales and management experience, with 10 years in the publishing industry. He has traveled extensively in North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East promoting the magazine. He is the third generation to lead the company. His grandfather William C. Sturgeon founded the company in 1953, and his mother Ricia S. Hendrick is the current President. MacKinnon is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in international business. He enjoys running, traveling and helping his local community, and spends much of his time with his wife and six children.
Patricia (Tricia) Cartee, Vice President and Director of Commercial Operations, was hired in 1979 as a Circulation Department assistant and promoted to management in 1981. Over the years, she has assumed management responsibility for the Education and Advertising departments and was promoted to Vice President in 1995.
Brad O'Guynn, Sales & Marketing Manager, has worked for EW since 2004. He holds a degree in Sport & Event Marketing and in Business Administration from the University of South Alabama. Before joining the company, O’Guynn worked as the Marketing Manager for a professional hockey team and served as a Regional Director for the Make-A-Wish Foundation in which he is still very active. He has authored several articles in EW and is the face that you see at all of the expos from the U.S. to China.
Lesley Kellison Hicks, Advertising Manager, came to EW in July 2005 with a background in sports marketing. Over the course of 10 years she worked in minor league hockey (the Mobile Mysticks), minor league baseball (the Quad City River Bandits, Fort Wayne Wizards and Mobile BayBears) and college athletics (Spring Hill College). The Missouri native earned a BSE degree in Physical Education from Truman State University and a master’s degree in Sports Management from Western Illinois University.
Scott O. Brown, Advertising Sales Representative, has worked in the publishing industry for 10 years in every capacity imaginable. Today, in addition to working with the sales team at ELEVATOR WORLD, he is an award-winning graphic novelist, with a feature-film adaptation of one of his comics in development at Dreamworks.
Cleo Brazile, Advertising Assistant, came to EW in 2007, with more than 20 years of managerial experience. She began working in the restaurant business in 1981, and has managed several restaurants and in retail. Her education includes corporate management training.
Michelle Hanks, Subscriptions/Customer Service Specialist was hired at EW on March 17, 1997. She transferred to the Commercial division in 1998 as Commercial Clerk. Later that year, she was promoted to Advertising Executive and worked in this department handling EW advertisers until March 2005, when she became the Circulation/Customer Service Specialist. When not at EW, her other job is raising a teenage son.
Robin Lawley, Educational Sales, was originally hired into the EW Advertising Department to work on the SOURCE directory in January 1997, but moved to the Educational Department in July 1997. She handles all aspects of the department, including book sales, CET®/CAT® and continuing education.
Monica Tapper, Research and Project Development, has been working at EW since February 2007. She received a BA in International Studies in 2005 and is currently working on a degree in French. She also works as a docent at the Mobile Museum of Art.
