MAINTENANCE COORDINATOR- ELEVATOR/ESCALATOR (INSPECTOR)

The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA), a leader in the transit industry, seeks an individual to perform preventative and corrective maintenance on escalators in support of the entire Metrorail system.  Employee will perform inspections; conduct investigations; respond to escalator and elevator emergencies, accidents, incidents, and equipment outages; and produces written audits and/or reports to document findings and recommendations for corrective action.  CERTIFICATION BY THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF ELEVATOR SAFETY AUTHORITIES (NAESA) THROUGH ANSI/ASME QEI-1 QUALIFICATION TEST IS REQUIRED.  H.S. Diploma or G.E.D. and training in one of the following engineering disciplines: Mechanical, Electrical, and Electronic.  Four (4) years of responsible experience in one of these disciplines, including at least two (2) years of training and technical work experience demonstrating a high degree of proficiency in performing maintenance and maintenance inspections on escalators and /or elevators. The salary range for this position is $60k - $80k.

Certified Elevator Inspector & Vertical Transportation Specialist - Project Manager Positions

Vertical Transportation Excellence (VTX), a division of Gannett Fleming, Inc. provides a wide range of elevator consulting services to the aviation, educational, healthcare, and public transportation markets, including commercial and governmental. We are seeking the following qualifications in Los Angeles, CA:

Certified Elevator Inspector - (AD10840)

Duties/Responsibilities:

- Perform daily/periodic oversight observation of elevator/escalator maintenance, modernization and construction
- Prepare reports for owner on activities observed
- Perform performance testing of equipment and analyze test results
- Perform Code and Contractual compliance inspections of equipment

Education/Experience Requirements:

- High School diploma. Some college preferred

Vertical Transportation Specialist - Project Manager - (AD10839)

Duties/Responsibilities:

- Assist existing project manager on existing projects.
- Project management responsibilities for new projects.
- Perform design, surveys, needs assessments, maintenance audits, and CEI inspections of vertical transportation equipment for existing and new clients.
- Develop contract documents for the installation, modernization, and maintenance of vertical transportation equipment.

Education/Experience Requirements:

- Bachelors Degree required.
- CEI certification required or ability to obtain CEI certification within 1 years time.
- Minimum 10+ years in the elevator industry.
- Elevator/Escalator design/survey and inspection experience needed with contract knowledge and project management experience strongly desired.
